The General Authority for Culture Palaces announced an increase in the demand for “People’s Cinema” shows in its cultural sites during the past three days.

In a related context, distinguished films were shown during the Eid Al-Fitr season at reduced prices to the public at 7 pm, and these cultural sites may extend to 17 governorates, and the total revenues amounted to more than half a million pounds.

The Director of the General Authority for Culture Palaces, Hisham Atwa, explained that the authority pays special attention to the “People’s Cinema” project, which aims to make optimal use of theaters and show films in the authority’s cultural sites, especially in the governorates, to achieve the principle of cultural justice, and to return cinematic audiences from Egyptian families to their homes. cinema halls. Atwa confirmed that the total revenues achieved amounted to 551,440 pounds during the days of Eid al-Fitr, which is a large number compared to the relatively low ticket price.

For his part, director Tamer Abdel Moneim, Executive Director of the “People’s Cinema” project, stated: “During the festive season, we witnessed a great public turnout for the “People’s Cinema” shows, as cinemas were opened in Alexandria, Assiut and Tanta, in addition to Sadat and Shebin El-Kom in Menoufia. All of her concerts were fortunate to have a large attendance.”

Abdel Moneim added that the offers will continue in the coming days to complete the Eid Al-Fitr season, at reduced prices for the public.

He emphasized the importance of this project in restoring life to cinemas in the governorates and encouraging the public to attend cinema shows at reasonable prices.

The authority screens Eid al-Fitr films in a number of cities and cultural centers in Egypt, including the People’s Cinema in Zagazig, the Kafr El-Sheikh Cultural Center, the Culture Palace in Qena, Luxor and Assiut, the Habis Cinema in the New Valley, the Alexandria Culture Palace, the Cultural Center in Tanta, the Sadat Cinema in Menoufia, the Shebin El-Kom Culture Palace, Damanhour and the Theater July 23 in Mahalla, the Cinema Palace in Garden City, the Cultural Palace in Rawd Al-Farag and Sharm El-Sheikh, in addition to the Cultural Palace of Suez, Port Said, Arish and Ismailia.

Concerts are held in all of the aforementioned locations on the following dates: “10 am, 12 noon, 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm, 8 pm, 10 pm, 12 midnight,” and the ticket price during the feast is 40 Egyptian pounds. to all parties.
