Muscat Stock Exchange records best trading value in July in 2024

Muscat Stock Exchange achieved the highest monthly trading value during the current year in July, recording 152.3 million Omani riyals, thanks to the implementation of special deals on the Abraj Energy Services share, in addition to the increase in trading on bank shares and the bonds and sukuk market.

According to the Oman News Agency, the bonds and sukuk market witnessed remarkable activity as the trading value rose to 3.5 million Omani riyals in July, compared to 974 thousand riyals in June 2024.

July trading is the highest since November 2023, while June trading was the lowest during the current year at 42 million Omani riyals due to the increase in investor demand. The number of deals executed in July also increased to 13,862 deals, an increase of 8.8% over June.

Despite the gains in the market value of listed securities, which amounted to OMR 76.6 million, investors showed caution, which was reflected in the decline of the main index of the stock exchange by 25 points to close at 4661 points, in addition to the decline in the indices of the financial, industrial and services sectors.
