A very recent step, Audi is moving towards the future of its production of fully electrified cars at a fast and steady pace. As the production of its first electric car, the E-TRON, approaches, the German manufacturer has dedicated an entire division to its factory in Zagreb - Croatia, a whole division devoted exclusively to the manufacture and development of electric motors, in preparation to support its future models.

In a related context, the press release issued by the company stated that the German manufacturer opened the production line on Tuesday 24 July in Zagreb, northern Croatia.

Audi stated that at present, a hundred fully trained employees and workers are working in its new department to produce 400 electric motors per day, with daily production gradually increasing with the increase in employment to more than 130 by the end of this year.

As for the engines under production, Audi is working to use the largest amount of tightly packed copper wires to increase the efficiency of its power delivery and thus its performance.

All motors will have a separate electronic control unit, gears and axles connecting them to the wheels, and there will be two different systems for each axle; Front and rear to represent Audi's next-generation quattro all-wheel drive system, and in addition to the production line, Audi Croatia has dedicated three platforms for testing operating and load bearing.

It should be noted that Audi Croatia produced 1,965,165 engines last year, at an average of 9,000 engines per day, which varied between six petrol and three diesel engines, with capacities ranging from 86 hp to 639 hp, making it one of the largest manufacturers of engines in the world.
