“Helwan Engineering” wins the first place in the “Hackathon” competition – Al-Nasr Newspaper
We congratulate the graduate team of the Faculty of Engineering at Helwan University for winning first place in the “We Innovate” hackathon competition at the CDIS Conference on Cybersecurity and Intelligence Systems. The conference was held from May 16-18, and the team received a prize of $6,000.
A statement issued by Helwan University indicated that Dr. El-Sayed Qandil, President of the University, and Dr. Mahmoud El-Maslawy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in Helwan, congratulated the team and wished more progress and success for all students.
Dr. El-Sayed Qandil praised the students of the university and the College of Engineering for their achievements and active participation in all local and international forums and competitions.
The team is made up of Karim Selim and Hassan Mostafa, graduates of Helwan Engineering, Department of Electronics, Communication and Computer Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering and Programming. They presented a project aimed at developing a multi-level solution to protect mobile applications from malicious attacks.
It is worth noting that the participants in the team participated in more than 20 competitions during their studies at the college and were able to achieve advanced positions in most of them. They achieved first place in the Google DSC Solution Challenge 2020 competition, and were among the top 20 teams in the world in the final stage of the United Nations Cybersecurity Hackathon 2019 held in Austria, and they represented Egypt in this competition.
