Multiple-entry, period-of-stay tourist visas
According to the official announcement, the multiple-entry tourist visas will be unsecured and valid for five years. Holders of these visas are allowed to stay in the country for 90 days at a time, and the same period can be renewed. We must mention that this system provides visitors with greater flexibility in moving between the Emirates and back again during the specified period.
Types of tourist visas in the United Arab Emirates
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship in the Emirates provides tourist visas for single or multiple entry. The short-stay tourist visa is granted for 30 days, while the long-stay tourist visa holders are allowed to stay in the country for 90 days. In addition, a single-entry tourist visa can be extended twice without having to leave the country.
Requirements for obtaining a tourist visa in the United Arab Emirates
Foreigners can apply for a tourist visa in the UAE, some of which are issued for a fee while others are free and fee-free. There are four main requirements for obtaining a tourist visa valid for five years:
- Bank account statement for the last six months with a balance of at least $4,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency.

Renewal and extension of tourist visas and entry permits
Since October 21, 2018, visitors and tourists can apply to renew visitor and tourist visas and entry permits of all types, whether long or short, for a period of 30 days and twice only, regardless of the main validity period of the visa. A fee of AED 600 is charged for each renewal, and the renewal application must be submitted before the previous visa expires.
