The date and conditions of the largest auction for the sale of European and Gulf cars at Cairo Airport
Details of the largest auction of European and Gulf cars at Cairo Airport were announced according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, where the date and place of the auction in which customs cars will be sold at Cairo Airport were revealed, as it will be held in the Giza Sports Club Hall on March 22, 2023, and 41 cars will be sold. The Ministry of Finance clarified the conditions for entering the customs car auction at Cairo Airport, which include the following:
Ordinary individuals are allowed to enter with one car by presenting the approved national number card.
Those wishing to participate in the customs car auction at Cairo Airport must purchase the conditions booklet.
For companies and showrooms, those who wish to buy a number of cars must present a tax card as a condition for entering the auction for those who work in the field of car trade.
Participants in the auction are entitled, during the inspection process, to accompany other persons with experience in inspecting cars by maintenance and plumbing personnel.
The bid document revealed the presence of several types of cars in the auction, including BMW, Mercedes, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and American cars, in addition to buses.
As for the vehicle payment method, the auction winner must pay 30% of the transaction value upon the auction award. In the event of non-payment on the same day, the administrative authority has the right to withhold the temporary deposit.
The down payment is to be paid in cash at the authority’s treasury or by an acceptable banker’s check, and the remaining amount must be paid within 15 days from the day following the awarding of the auction.
The Ministry of Finance confirms the delivery of the sold parts after approval from the competent authority and payment of the full price. The car must be delivered within 15 days from the date of notifying the administrative authority of the delivery date. The customs authority is responsible for ownership of the parcel.
In case of no-show and failure to pick up the vehicle on time, latecomers will be penalized at 1% for each day of delay up to a maximum of 7 days. In the event that the car is not received after this period, the contract will be canceled and the final insurance will be confiscated in favor of the administrative authority with deduction of the value of the administrative expenses due in addition to any other fines charged to the administrative authority according to appropriate considerations.
