The Saudi Ministry of the Interior imposes a fine of 20,000 on everyone who commits this new violation after today!!
The Ministry of the Interior confirmed that there is a fine of 20,000 riyals for anyone who transfers or publishes recordings on social media platforms in accordance with the provisions of the system, or who damages or vandalizes security surveillance camera system devices or recordings.
The Ministry affirmed that any person can appeal the criminal ruling issued against him before the Administrative Court within 60 days from the date of being notified of the decision. The Ministry indicated that security surveillance cameras are fixed or mobile devices that aim to record motion pictures in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations for the Use of Security Surveillance Cameras, and do not include cameras installed by individuals inside residential units and private complexes.
The Saudi government had previously agreed to install a security surveillance camera system in ministries, public authorities and institutions, oil and petrochemical facilities, power generation and water desalination facilities, tourist accommodation facilities, commercial complexes, shopping centers, financial institutions, banks, exchange centers, money transfer centers, residential buildings, and the mosque. The Grand Mosque, the Prophet’s Mosque, mosques, sports clubs, and stadiums, in addition to public and private cultural facilities, youth centers, public and private recreational facilities, public and private health facilities, hospitals, clinics, commercial warehouses, main roads and their intersections within cities, and highways that connect cities and governorates.
