The Saudi Ministry of Interior announces the arrest of 16,860 expatriate workers and residents in the Kingdom
The Saudi Ministry of Interior officially announced this morning the seizure of 16,860 violators of all residence, work and border security regulations, in all regions within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a related context, the Saudi Ministry of Interior added this morning that the violators were arrested in the period from 18 to 7/24/1444 AH, corresponding to 9 to 2/15/2023 AD.
The Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia revealed that the total number of violators caught in all joint security field campaigns amounted to about 16,860 violators, including 9,713 violators of all residency and work regulations, 4,029 violators of the border security system, and 3,118 violators of the labor system.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior also announced this morning that 515 people were arrested while trying to cross the border into Saudi territory, as follows:
- 67% of them are Yemeni.
- 28% are Ethiopians.
- 5% of other nationalities
- In addition, 30 people were arrested while trying to cross the border outside Saudi territory, in an illegal manner.
Also, fifteen people involved in transporting, harboring and operating violators of residency, work and border security regulations and covering up for them were arrested.
On the other hand, the total number of those who are currently subject to procedures for implementing the regulations has reached about 20,934 violators, including 18,589 men and 2,345 women. 12,087 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, 1,606 violators were to complete their travel reservations, and 12,728 violators were deported.
For its part, the Saudi Ministry of Interior urged citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to quickly report any cases of violation to the number (911) in the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and (999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
