We will take revenge on Real Madrid
Manchester City football star, Portuguese player Bernardo Silva, expressed great confidence in his team’s ability to take revenge on Real Madrid, in the Champions League semi-finals.
Manchester City maintained its qualification for the Golden Square for the third consecutive edition, after winning the first-leg match against Bayern Munich 3-0 in England, and drawing with it 1-1 in the return match at Allianz Arena, on Wednesday.
Manchester City hopes to win the title this season after the sudden exit from last season.
Young Norwegian player Erling Haaland scored a goal for Manchester City in the 57th minute, making up for the penalty kick he missed in the 37th minute, and Joshua Kimmich scored a goal for Bayern from a penalty kick in the 83rd minute.
Real Madrid denied Bernardo Silva access to the Champions League final in the previous season, after beating Manchester City in a dramatic manner in the semi-finals.
Manchester City beat Real Madrid 4-3 at home, and advanced 1-0 in the return match in Spain, but the royal team scored two goals in the fatal time of the second half thanks to its Brazilian star Rodrigo, to win the match.
In extra time, French striker Karim scored a goal, and Benzema added the third goal for the Spanish national team, which qualified for the final after its 3-1 victory over its English rival.
Asked about the chance for revenge, the Manchester City midfielder told BT Sport: “We hope so, for sure we will strive for that.”
“We are always working on it, but we feel the team is very confident in its abilities at the moment. I think we’ll go up.”
The first leg match between Real Madrid and City is scheduled to take place on the ninth of May in Spain, before the confrontation between them is renewed in the second leg in England on the 17th of the same month.
