The Federal Ministry of Health of Australia announced that 230 new cases of newly created Corona virus were recorded, bringing the total number of infections to 5 thousand and 454 cases, and deaths to 28 people, and the ministry indicated, according to Russia Today channel - the stability of the daily increase at 5% in recent days , Which is much lower than the jumps that occurred in the past two weeks and reached 30%.

Although there were signs of a slowdown in the spread of corona, Australia had stepped up efforts in the global race to stop the pandemic.
Last Thursday, the Australian National Science Agency said it had started the first phase of testing vaccines for Covid-19 disease caused by the emerging coronavirus.

On Thursday, the Australian National Science Agency said it had begun the first phase of testing vaccines for Covid-19 disease caused by the Coruna virus as it joined a global pandemic race.

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization has begun pre-clinical trials, which include injecting rodents with potential vaccines, at its Biosecurity facility near Melbourne.

"The first stage test will take about three months," Rob Greenville, WHO director of health, told Reuters, adding that any vaccine produced after this stage would not be available to the public until late next year.

"We still hope that we will launch a vaccine for consumers within 18 months ... This may change, of course. There are a lot of technical challenges that we have to overcome," Greenville said in an interview via Skype from Melbourne.
He stated that the scientists are working at an "amazing" pace, and they reached pre-clinical trials within about eight weeks, in a process that usually takes up to two years.

"This is the speed at which they are working," he said.

More than 85,000 people were infected with the virus in 207 countries and regions, killing more than 42,000. Australia reported about 5,200 injuries and 24 deaths.

Greenville said he expects one of the vaccines to be tested in humans later this month or early next month.
